Dana and I had a nice trip to Atlantic City and Barneget this week, even though the weather didn’t cooperate (as you can tell from this photo). It rained from Monday through Thursday afternoon, when we left Barneget. We spent a day in Barneget visiting her cousins, but unfortunately her aunt, Judy, was not home, as she was on a mission trip to Romania for the week. While in Barneget, we went to the Barneget Lighthouse and strolled around the pier/beach for a bit.
Even though we were on vacation, it certainly appears the rest of the world wasn’t. We caught some Sportscenter highlights (lowlights?) of the Orioles v. Texas Rangers game, in which the Orioles were beat 30 to 3, a feat not witnessed since 1897!
I returned to the webternet with some disappointing news from one of my favorite venues, the 9:30 Club: a much-anticipated stop by Texas favorite, Spoon has been moved to Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, so that Spoon can co-headline for The Shins. Unfortunately for me, I have absolutely zero interest in seeing The Shins. I’ve seen several videos of their live performances and they always appear to be quite dull.
As you can tell from the photos in our vacation gallery, the weather was chilly as well. I got used to wearing my jacket all week, but of course, today Washington has a heat advisory and it feels like 105 outside. Welcome home!

Looks like a great trip! All those clouds and rain almost makes me home sick.
