Here are a few more samples of music that I’ve been enjoying lately.

Andrew Bird - Simple X from Armchair Apocrypha (2007)

Andrew Bird is a talented singing-songwriting whistler from Chicago. On 2007’s Armchair Apocrypha, he finally collaborated fully with Minneapolis electronic artist Dosh and they produced this magnificent tack, which was originally written by Dosh for his own record.

The Hold Steady - Stuck Between Stations from Boys & Girls in America (2006)

The Hold Steady are a group of guys mostly from Minneapolis that now live in Brooklyn. Thankfully, for those of us whom love Minneapolis, they still sing about the area with references to the Mississippi River, Washington Avenue, the 494, Lyndale Avenue…well, you get the picture. A self-admitted bar band, their witty lyrics and obnoxiously energetic live shows have cemented them as one of my favorite bands.
