The Wild One

Dana and I did something a bit unusual this weekend, we went to Six Flags. Now, I’ve never been to an amusement park like this, because as a kid I got sick on every ride I went on. Needless to say, when Dana proposed going to Six Flags I had some reservations, not to mention her proposal to ride a roller coaster.

After thinking about it for awhile, I took the plunge and rode my first roller coaster: The Wild One.

Now, the signs at Six Flags, said it went 60 mph, but this page says it goes only 45 mph. All I know is that I was more afraid than I recall being in a very, very long time the first time I rode it. After a little break, I decided to try it again and had a blast.

Dana loves going on rides however, and decided to try Two Face. I wasn’t about to try that one.

We also went on The Tornado and Shipwreck Falls, which is one of the rides where the big boat you ride in plunges into a lagoon and splashes everything and everyone around you.

It was a great time and I hope to go again soon, although I think I’ll wait a bit longer to try Two Face.

Congrats

To our friends in Wilco on your appearance at number four on the Billboard charts.

One Other Item of Note

Some of you may know that I had another biopsy done a week or so ago. For those that didn’t: I had a small mole removed on my back. It was simply an investigative procedure to ensure that it was not cancerous. I received the results last Friday when I got my stitches out, and thankfully, it was not bad news. Unfortunately, it’s not great news either. The mole was dysplastic, which means the cells had a significant portion of abnormalities to them, and it would have likely turned cancerous at some point. So, my batting average is roughly 1.5/2, which isn’t so bad - it could be worse, it could be better. But it is what it is. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Some New Feline Flicks

Howdy folks, it’s bee awhile. Life is hectic here, as usual. Head on over to the movies section and check out the new movies.

Alternatively, check below where I’ve posted the movies as well.
I want more, more, mmmooorrre…

Rain, Rain, (Don’t) Go Away

It’s been pretty dry here in DC lately, but last night we had a nice, small thunderstorm. As is typical with any moderate amount of rainfall, our backyard usually has at least two inches of standing water immediately-post-rainfall and during the fall. Thankfully, it occiasionally makes for interesting photos like this one:

Bike Month

Bird on a bike
May is American Bike Month. As a near-daily cyclist (when I don’t have stitches that is), I hope you’ll get out on a bike this month.

Also, May 14-18 is Bike-to-work Week. Hop on a bicycle and get to work!

Master of the (Teaching) Universe!

Well, she was recently awarded the position of “Master Teacher.”
