Funniest URI of the Month

Yo La Tengo, the quintessential indie rock band, has registered IAmNotAfraidOfYouAndIWillBeatYourAss.com in honor of their new record I Am Not Afraid Of You and I Will Beat Your Ass. It’s a great record, and I can’t wait for it’s release on September 12!

A New Kitty!

Well, we got a new kitten this weekend. His name currently is Seamus. We’re probably not going to keep that name, but we’ll keep everyone posted as to what it changes too. I’m also creating a page now with all of our kitty videos and I’ll post it sometime this weekend when we get some more of Seamus.

Hey Brandon….
Not going to write much because who knows if this is you or not. But this is Brenna. Got your address from Travis Wong. How ya doing? Let me know whats going on with ya…

Brenna

What an incredible email to receive. Brenna was one of my best friends years and years ago. I know that some may say the internet separates people and precludes humans from having honest interaction. But, it also makes it much, much easier to find people whom you lost touch with. And I personally think that is one of the greatest things about technology. You can still have honest and real interaction with people, but just as always, it takes effort.

I’m really happy to hear from Brenna, and we’ve been exchanging messages everyday. If you read this Brenna, thank you for finding me! It’s been awesome to hear from you.

Big Day for Apple

Apple Computers had a big day today with the Steve Jobs’ keynote address from their World Wide Developer Conference.

I’ve very excited about the Mac Pro, Apple’s new desktop computer. The new machine will sport between 2 GHz and 3 GHz Quad-core Intel Xeon Processors. That’s some serious horsepower!

However, the potential Apple showed in Apple’s new version of OSX, Leopard (10.5). There are plenty of cool new features, as well as some exciting improvements to existing applications.

And of course, remember with Apple’s switch to Intel-based processors from the Motorola manufactured Power-PC chips, you can now run Windows on a Mac! Is the Mac Pro the last computer I’ll ever need? I sure hope to find out soon.

Sleater-Kinney @ the 9:30 Club

Last night I saw Sleater-Kinney at the 9:30 Club here in DC. The trio played an incredible setlist (with two encores). It took the crowd awhile to get going though, the DC heat makes one feel quite lathargic. After the crowd got going though, they didn’t quit. After the first encore, the house raised the lights and turned on the house music, but the crowd kept clapping, screaming, and stomping their feeet and the girls came back for encore el numero dos.

For a band going on “indefinite hiatus,” the girls sure seemed to have a great time with each other. I can’t imagine not, with the crowd as excited as they were. The highlight of the night for me was the 10 minute “Let’s Call It Love” rock/jam-fest straight into “Entertain” - pretty incredible.

edit: NPR recorded the concert for your aural pleasure.
